Official Kirkcaldy Links Market 2009 DVD
With Kirkcaldy 2009 having now been and gone it will be no surprise that AJS have just released a dvd film of this amazing annual gathering of Showmen. The film lasts for 100 mins and in my view is their finest to date! We are taken through the process of Showmen arriving at the bowl prior to the 10pm pull on. We witness the pull on with Willie Wilson's 'Chaos' leading the way. More loads are seen arriving and building up the following day. I am particularly pleased to see the Freak Out returning to the links now hauled by its new owner Shane Rowland's Scania- Shane being one of my local West Country Showmen. The machine had come back up all the way from Cornwall to honour an arrangement with its previous owner Graham Sedgwick. In fact in Graham's ownership it had visited the West Country. After the build up the opening ceremony and then fair open both day and night. To complete the picture we then sample the pull down and pull off. A really complete story of this great event. Excellent price £15.00. Another film from the St. Andrews boys is a 40 minute film entitled Livingston 2009. This is a Horne's Pleasure Fairs event so certainly no disappointment on the quality of transport and equipment. We once again see the pull on and the fair open. The star of the show this time being Stanley Gamble's 'Extreme' Orbiter on it's first outing. Good compact film £10.00 see E BAY SHOP Fairground Trucking

ARRIVAL ! A Documentary
A.J.S. in Scotland have released a new DVD entitled 'Arrival! A Documentary' (Horne's Pleasure Fair Adesko Dodgem). This film starts with the arrival of the brand new ride at the docks in Scotland following an over night trip on the ferry from Belgium. We see the ferry docking and the freight unloading with an appropriate change of music as Horne's splendid Scania comes into view. There then follows a very detailed film of the track being first built up under the expert eye of Bart (and his son),a technician sent from Adesko. We are catch up with the track open at Dundee Riverside. The paint work and lights can be seen in all their glory. This is both an enjoyable and informative film. I seriously believe that this could be used by Adesko as part of a training pack. I take this opportunity of wishing Charlie and his firm all the very best with this brilliant new aquisition. Running time 40 minutes and it costs £10.
